Personality: At 97 pounds, Reed is a big boy, but has an equally big heart. He is blind, and is learning special commands using only voice such as sit, down, back, wait, step up, and step down. Reed's three favorite things are cuddling, following other dogs around the house, and playing with toys. He loves to meet new people, and is working on greeting politely. He is crate trained and has been successfully left alone for up to 4 hours. He is also housetrained. Reed's foster family describes him as the perfect combination of energetic when it's time for walks and play and lazy when they're ready for netflix and chill.
History: Reed came to us from another shelter.
Dog Skills: Because he is blind, Reed may not know when another dog is near him immediately. Once he does, he's briefly startled, then relaxes and wags his tail. He has gotten along great with the dog in his foster home and enjoys cuddling up to him and following him around the house. Reed has even done well with dogs as small as 9lbs!
Cat Skills: We do not have a history of Reed with cats.
Leash Skills: Reed enjoys going on walks and hikes.
Medical: Reed is blind due to an underlying unknown cause. He has allergies that make him itchy, but are being managed well with medicated baths and medication. He also has flea allergies, which are being managed with regular flea treatment. I am sponsored by Anna Kasimatis and Katie Stern!
