I've been adopted!
About me
Personality: Tofu is a lovable cat, who can be shy when first transitioning into a new environment and meeting new people. Tofu loves pets and cuddling on laps but needs time and lots of treats to get to know someone new. Tfou was described as affectionate, outgoing, and playful, once comfortable in a home environment, Tofu enjoys playtime with wand toys, crinkle balls, fake mouses, and scratching posts. We highly recommend a slow transition into a new home to set him up for success!

History: Tofu came in as a stray from the city of Sunnyvale 5/17/2017 , he was adopted two months later and was returned 3 years later on 12/28/20. Tofu was returned due to a change out of the family's control.

Cat/Dog Skills: Tofu lived with a sibling for his first year of life, and has not since interacted or been co-housed with another feline.Tofu has never interacted with a dog.

Tofu was adopted as a kitten and surrendered back to HSSV as an adult. The owner noted a history of inappropriate urination (urinating outside the litter box) when the box was dirty. This occurred several times over the years. While we have little detail on the litter box set up in his previous home, Tofu has shown to use his litter box in our care as it is scooped daily and kept cleaned.

Future adopters should ensure optimal litter box set up for Tofu including providing at least two litter boxes in different, low key areas of the home. At least one box should be uncovered. The boxes should be scooped daily, dumped of all dirty litter once a week, and washed out monthly. Tofu should also be provided a confinement space as he transitions into a new home as he can be shy/nervous when acclimating.
