Personality: Patty enjoys playing with toys and snuggling with people. It may take her a moment or two to get comfortable when meeting someone for the first time, once she knows you she enjoys cuddling on your lap.
History: Patty came to us from another shelter.
Cat/Dog skills: Patty is currently living with her brother Bobby and while they're enjoying the company of another kitten they can be adopted separately or together.
Medical: Patty has a condition of both her eyes called "symblepharon." When she was very young, she developed a viral infection in the eyes resulting in severe inflammation of the corneas (the clear part of the eye.) In an attempt to heal the ulcers, some of the surrounding tissues of the eyes called conjunctiva attached to the ulcers and became permanently healed there. While the function of the eyes is normal, this tissue now permanently covers portions of the cornea. This limits the vision the same way a curtain covering a window prevents you from seeing outside properly. Unfortunately, surgical removal of this tissue is unlikely to be successful and the same healing process would occur. Fortunately, the partial loss of vision in her eyes is not anticipated to negatively impact her quality of life.
