Personality: Lyla's personality is blossoming. During transitions to new environments, she can be tentative and shy, but she is quickly growing more confident. She is now comfortable meeting new people, and is very social and relaxed around them. Lyla is playful and especially enjoys squeaky toys and stuffed animals, which she likes to carry around in her mouth. In her foster home, she appeared to be house trained, was slowly being introduced to the crate, and was not destructive, even when left alone.
History: Lyla came to us from a shelter in the Central Valley.
Dog skills: Lyla regularly participates in playgroups, and enjoys playing chase with other polite dogs. She can be tentative with very forward, rowdy dogs who try to engage her in wrestling. She has been noted to guard her food from other dogs.
Cat skills: In the foster home, Lyla lived with cats and would try to engage with them. Over time, she learned to leave them alone and was given full run of the house.
Leash skills: Lyla walks nicely on leash. She will sometimes startle when she hears loud noises in the environment while on walks, but recovers quickly.
