About me
Personality: Perla is an affectionate, active girl looking for a special, experienced family in a low key household. She can be tentative in new situations, but warms up quickly and likes to be by her person. She enjoys lounging outside in the sun for as long as she can. Perla does well on long walks, and jogs nicely on leash. She would be a good exercise partner as she loves the great outdoors. Perla would benefit from plenty of physical and mental exercise and a family who is comfortable managing a high energy, large dog. Perla thrives in routine and being on schedule. A training scholarship has been funded by The Pedigree Foundation.

History: Perla came to us from another shelter, rescued from circumstances of neglect. She is strongly recommended to a low key, larger household setting that has access to an enclosed yard for outdoor time.

Dog/Cat Skills: Perla has participated in playgroup daily with female and male dogs. She has shown to be social, low key, and often peacefully coexists with dogs. When one on one with a calm, social match, she has warmed up to play. She can be easily overwhelmed by more forward, rowdy behavior and is willing to correct when her space is not respected. Perla may also police or be bossy when female dogs are engaging in rough play.
Perla has shown breed tendencies of predatory behavior towards cats so a home with no cats is highly recommended.

Leash Skills: Perla walks comfortably on leash, but is still adjusting to walking equipment being placed on her as she had suffered a tightly fit chain on her neck previously.
