Personality: Winnie loves to snuggle and cuddle. She is small enough that she fits perfectly on a lap or next to you to watch TV. Her foster used a dog bell hung on the door to which is rung every time she wants to go outside combined with praise. When she goes to the bathroom outside, we give her a small treat with praise. She is doing great and hasn't had any accidents since the second day! Winnie has shown some signs of anxiety when left alone (pacing and looking for the person she was most bonded to). Winnie's foster noted that she does not like loud noise so she would probably be a better fit with older children (not young ones). She loves to be held and carried so our house of 3 teens have given her lots of love that she soaks up. A house of older adults would work well since she wants to be in your arms all the time. She loves to curl up in a ball and snuggle with you. Anybody will fall in love with her sweet, loving face and personality. She is shy but once bonded wants to be with you all the time. What a great companion! She needs help learning to walk on a leash but is smart and learns quickly with some training.
History: Winnie was in a foster home for a period of time. She was living with a 7-year-old dog and a few teenagers. She did well with the teenagers and was alright with the other dog although she would correct him if he was too forward with her.
Dog/Cat Skills: Winnie has been introduced to a few dogs while in our care and has done well overall. She is nervous with initial greetings and prefers to move away from other dogs.
Leash Skills: Winnie is still learning leash manners but does better with happy talk and treats.
