I've been adopted!
About me
Personality: Maple is a sweet little lady looking for a loving home that understands her needs. She can be shy and reserved with new people and needs time to warm up to new people and new places. She does best if allowed to slowly transition at her own pace where her boundaries are respected. Maple is looking for an experienced, low-key, adult home where she can bond with her caretakers and become someone's best friend.
Post-adoption scholarship sponsored by Pedigree Foundation.

History: Maple has been with HSSV for a little while due to her medical needs. She has been adopted and returned because she didn't warm up to the new environment and her caretaker. Maple also has been in couple foster homes and has done wonderful when given time and space to transition.

Dog Skills: Maple likes other dogs once she has time to warm up. She prefers male dogs over females and would love to go home with a confident canine companion that can keep her company.

Leash Skills: Maple loves to go on leashed walks. In her last foster home she would go for hour long walks daily and had a blast doing so.

Medical:
IMHA: This dog has been diagnosed with a condition called Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). IMHA is a condition where the body's immune system attacks and removes its own red blood cells, leading to severe anemia, and an unhealthy yellow coloring of the tissues called jaundice or icterus.
This dog is responding very well to treatment with the steroid medication Prednisone. It is possible for this dog to go into remission and not need any further treatment after the taper process; however it is also possible that she will require life long therapy.

Maple is part of our Diamond in the Ruff program and needs a special appointment to be seen. Ready to meet Maple? Fill out the form to request an appointment
