Personality: William is a people social guy who loves to snuggle and lean his head up against you. He can be tentative with new people coming into his home, but he's bouncy, happy, and always ready to be on the go with his people. William is food-motivated, which is helping him learn some manners to become a good canine citizen.
History: William came to us from another shelter.
Dog skills: William participates in regular playgroups. He can be forward when first meeting new dogs, but takes corrections well. William prefers bouncy, polite play with little contact. He has shown to do best with female dogs who co-exist well or play politely, and tends to not get along with rude, forward male dogs.
Cat skills: We do not have a history of William living with cats, but he has been observed to be hyper focused on cats and other small animals.
Leash skills: William walks nicely on leash and currently uses a harness. He enjoys going on regular walks and other outings.
Medical: William came to us with a painful disease of his right hip joint. Our medical team performed a surgical procedure called a femoral head and neck ostectomy (FHO). He is expected to be able to use the leg normally after a few months, and is encouraged to use the leg to help strengthen it.
