Personality: Choco is a sweet, friendly and fun-loving dog. He has a lot of energy and loves to go on walks and play with his human and dog friends! He also enjoys cuddling with you in his down time. Choco is getting the hang of housetraining, but is doing really well!
History: Choco came to us as an owner surrender due to moving. He spent some time in a foster home while getting used to shelter life.
Dog Skills: Choco is social with other dogs and participates in our small dog playgroups.
Cats Skills: No known history on Choco interacting with cats.
Leash Skills: Choco walks well on leash.
Medical: Choco had a dental cleaning recently at HSSV. At that time all the teeth were cleaned and evaluated for fractures. Teeth that were determined to be unhealthy were removed. Dental care is an ongoing process so we recommend his adopters follow up with their vet for further care.
On routine blood work performed at HSSV, it was found that this dog had an elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP) value. This elevation is most commonly associated with hormonal disease, liver disease and dental disease. Currently, Choco is clinically normal and not demonstrating any symptoms of liver disease. Currently he does not need any treatments or extra care though we do recommend that repeat bloodwork is done during a yearly exam with the adopters vet.
