About me
Personality: Beckett is an athletic, energetic dog who is looking for a dog savvy home that is just as athletic as he is. He can be a little tentative in new places and can be sensitive to invasive handling, but with some time and space to settle in, he warms up quickly. His future family should be familiar with dog body language and reading his signals to help him slowly build confidence. He loves to have access to a yard where he gets more space to meet people, but he likes long walks, runs, and hikes even better! He would do best in an adult household with experience around working breeds like him. A training scholarship has been funded by The Pedigree Foundation
History: Beckett came to HSSV as a stray. Dog/Cat Skills: Beckett has participated in dog playgroup, and can be forward in greets. He has shown to be tentative with and possibly target intact/recently neutered male dogs (not uncommon as he was only recently neutered as well). Beckett does best with social, playful females who tolerate his forward approach. He will play chase and enjoys running around the yard with dogs. He has shown hyper focus on cats and willingness to chase them. Adopters should be familiar with breed tendencies. Leash Skills: Beckett can pull on leash, but needs time to get comfortable before being harnessed. He walks okay on leash once he can get some energy out. Beckett is eager to meet dogs, and can become excited and vocal when he sees them. We are working on this by redirecting him with treats and happy talk. Ready to meet Beckett?
