Personality: Pedro is a silly, sweet, big-eyed boy that will melt your heart. He's deaf and navigates the world cautiously at times. His favorite place to be is sunbathing or nestled in someone's arms. Pedro has lots of quirky charm and is a low-key boy overall. He can be tentative with invasive handling and easily startled by things he cannot hear coming. He would do best in a calm, adult household with experience in helping shy dogs gain confidence.
History: Pedro came to us from a shelter in the central valley. He has lived in an adult household where ,once comfortable with someone, is more tolerant of invasive handling.
Dog Skills: Pedro does best with other calm, social dogs. He often peacefully coexists and will follow other dogs around the house. He may benefit from having a confident canine role model in the home. Pedro is ok around cats.
Leash Skills: Pedro wears a soft harness. He does not yet know how to walk on leash but will benefit from an enclosed yard where he can begin to learn.
Medical: Pedro has neurological issues. He may wobble or tilt his head when he walks. Pedro is also recovering from a ruptured ear drum. Although Pedro is deaf, it has not stopped him from engaging with people and dogs. He continues to learn new things on a daily basis.
