Personality: Chucky is a very sweet boy who loves love! He is very cuddly and affectionate once he is given some time to get to know someone. He will lean in for cuddles, kisses and back scratches every chance he gets. Chucky would love a home where he can get lots of physical activity and mental enrichment. He does have some herding breed traits, and we recommend that his future adopters are familiar with herding breed traits before taking him home.
Chucky's adoption includes a post-adoption training scholarship to help him start off in new home on the right paw.
History: Chucky was surrendered to us by his previous owners when they had to move and they couldn't take him with them.
Dog Skills: Chucky is selective about which dogs he likes. He would do great as an only dog and if introduced to other dogs it should be done during an on-leash parallel walk to start things off right.
Cat Skills: Even though Chucky used to live with cats in his previous home, he has shown wanting to chase cats while at the shelter.
Leash Skills: Chucky will pull on leash when he is excited. He would benefit from walking on front-clip harness and learn loose leash manners. Chucky also will vocalize upon seeing other dogs while on leash. He responds very well to clicker training + treats and does great when re-directed from focusing on other dogs to instead presenting more desired behaviors to the person that's walking him.
