Adopt Sweet Caroline for $0! Her adoption fee has been sponsored by her previous foster family!
Personality: Sweet Caroline is very SWEET (like the Neil Diamond song), and laid back too! She loves walks, cuddles and belly rubs the most. She is a little shy at meeting new people, but warms up quickly with treats and gentle petting.
History: Sweet Caroline came to us from Madera shelter back in March. She sits for treats and welcomed visitors with cuddles after she had some time to settle into her foster home. Now friends and family just stop by just to spend time with her. Sweet Caroline was adopted once by a first time dog owners and returned two days later because they were not ready for a large dog.
Her next home should give Sweet Caroline her own space where she can decompress for a few days before introducing her to the neighborhood. After that, she has shown to be a little shadow and foot warmer.
A training scholarship has been funded by The Pedigree Foundation, to help Caroline and her family during the transition period.
Dog Skills: Sweet Caroline is known as a "peaceful co-exister." That means she would rather hang out with other dogs than play with them. She's also a little bossy with puppies and shy dogs, so we're recommending she go home alone or with a well-matched confident, adult male dog who understands her discerning style!
Cat Skills: Sweet Caroline likes cats a little TOO much. We've seen her try to chase them on walks, so we're recommending she does not go home with a resident feline.
Leash Skills: Sweet Caroline pulls on leash when excited. She should wear a front-clip harness and would benefit from training on loose leash walking.
Medical: Sweet Caroline has gum disease (which is pretty common in older animals). HSSV cleaned her teeth recently, but it is an ongoing process that her new family will need to continue with to keep Sweet Caroline's teeth and gums healthy!
Her care has been sponsored by Troop 61142!
