Personality: Molly is a sweet dog with lots of energy and lots of love to give. She has fully mastered the puppy eye stare. She is very shy at first, but with some food and kindness, she will warm right up to you. She has lots of energy and enjoys playing with her humans and running around in yard. Her favorite activity is playing fetch with tennis balls! Molly would love a low key adult household where she can continue gaining confidence and learn to trust people again.
History: Molly was adopted and returned after being gone for several months. The main reason for return was cited that she had hard time getting potty trained. Since Molly has been back, she has never gone potty in her room anywhere else but on potty-pad and she prefers to go outside. We believe that Molly will really benefit from structure and routine to help her adjust and learn new things in her new home.
Dog Skills: Molly enjoys company of other dogs. She is a peaceful co-exister but occasionally will solicit play from other outgoing dogs. She wouldn't mind going home with another friendly dog.
Cat Skills: We don't have history on how Molly is around cats.
Leash Skills: Molly walks well on leash. Sometimes she can get frightened by loud noises or fast movements while on leash so it's best to walk her in low traffic areas or during quiet hours.
Medical: Periodontal disease. This patient has been diagnosed with periodontal disease (also known as gum disease or dental disease). This disease is extremely common in dogs and cats, especially as they age (however, it can also occur in younger animals due to genetic and other factors.)This patient had a dental cleaning at HSSV.
History of Poor Body condition and Renal Insufficiency
This dog presented to HSSV being significantly undernourished and have elevated kidney values. With time and care, she has gained weight and now has a normal body condition. Her kidney values have also returned to normal. The most likely cause of her lab changes was malnutrition. On her follow up lab work, her kidney values had returned to normal and she is doing well. She is on a normal diet and not expected to have any further issues.
